We write to you to inform
you that St. Cabrini Home, Inc. is undergoing significant change.
Due to funding issues, we were forced to make a very painful decision.
We had no choice but to close our Residential Treatment Center at
the end of February and our Community Group Home Program at the end
of June. We did everything possible to save our programs. However,
given the inadequacy of the funding available to us and the changing
orientation for the provision of service in the child welfare system,
closure was inevitable.
Please be assured that
during this time all donations and gifts received have been used to
support the children. This has been a difficult time for our young
people, staff, and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
We worked hard and were successful in facilitating smooth transitions
for all of our residents into their new placements. Your gifts helped
us do that. We are extremely grateful for your generosity.
Even though Saint Cabrini
Home will not continue as it has been for the past 120 years, we are
seeking opportunities to generate new ministries. We are working to
discover the needs of the community and to develop programs that truly
meet these needs. As new ministries emerge on our campus we hope that
we can once again call upon you for continued support.
The Board of Directors
of St. Cabrini Home, Inc. and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus thank you for years of generousity to our Mission.
Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we evolve into new endeavors.
Sincerely,
William R. Eidle,
Board Chair
